I believe Batfastard was merely pointing out, he could do 900 miles in their diesel for £90. Stopping or doing the journey straight was never mentioned.
However, on a long jouney ICE especially diesel will ultimately be cheaper on costs. The difference with EV’s and to a similar extent PHEV’s, the extra costs are easily offset with local journeys.
