I was under the impression that petitions had to be made to government, all petitions on Change.org are just people venting. There’s no legal requirement for these petitions even in the millions to trigger any time in Parliamentary procedures. If someone puts a suitable petition up on the .gov website then it may gain the traction needed.
Correct, the government are not legally obligated to pay any attention to change.org, even though they do get delivered to the government. The petition should be posted on gov.uk first and on change.org used to inform of its existance on gov.uk.
