Sorry, only just seen this. So the MG HS…. I’ve had mine for well over 2 years and 22,000 miles and it’s never missed a beat. Superbly comfortable even on a 340 mile trip and a really lovely drive. The engine is fabulous but it’s not the most frugal of cars although to be fair, it’s big, I’m lead footed and it still gives around 40mpg on a run which isn’t bad. The only down side is the tech. I can live with most things but there are a few little quirks which really irritate me, the useless DAB radio being the most annoying. That said, if they’ve fixed those on the latest version I’d have one without a moments hesitation. If they haven’t, I won’t.

Yes, definitely agree the tech side let’s it down and I do like that side of things which is what’s made the Grandland more appealing. However driveline, I loved the MG on the road where as the Grandland is very sluggish and loud. I have gone ahead and ordered the Grandland but I really don’t know if im happy.

Mellza maybe ask MG forums if the facelift 2025 model has a new DAB antenna. My previous 2022 Hyundai Tucson had awful DAB but, seems to be rectified with the latest facelift, of which I have the N Line S PHEV.

The MG HS PHEV is out of your ££ but, cheap at £3600? and at 75 mile electric range, you may find the extra cost justifies itself, especially if you can charge at home via a granny charger at a cheap overnight rate.
