Yes, that puts the event out of reach to large swathes of the population. We went to the Big Event in Exeter last year. It was brilliant for looking at a huge range of adaptations all in one place. We wanted to look at person hoists and were delighted to see that 3 or 4 different types were on display (and available to test) in different vehicles, so we were able to make an informed choice.
Where it was a big let down was in choice of cars. Most manufacturers only had a couple of cars, which was pretty useless. Maybe it’s better at the NEC?
The other problem was the shortage of disabled toilets. Due to the large number of disabled visitors, and time that it takes some people to use them, queues were long and very slow moving. We could see that it would take far too long before we could access one, so had to leave and use the toilets at Exeter Motorway services.
