Heathrow serves a bigger population of 8 million than Chicago O’hare, which serves 2 millio, but O’hare has 8 runways and Heathrow only has 2. On that account shouldn’t Heathrow have more than 2? But remember Chicago O’Hare International Airport has eight runways that are utilized at different times depending primarily upon the prevailing wind conditions on the airfield, as well as other weather conditions, airfield conditions, and air traffic conditions.
