Does anyone know when the next price window is shared ? Does it come up on 1st Jan ? Or will Motability be off for Christmas/New Year ? I’m between two price windows & car deposits are ridiculous just now. My instinct is just to hold off. thanks for any replies
Quarter 1 is always released on 1st January. It used to be at midnight, but is now usually mid-late morning. Advance Payments (APs) have been rising for the last 2 years and, sadly, the upward trend is likely to continue. Having really pushed them for the last few years, Motability are now concerned about residual (end of lease) values of EVs and have been hiking APs across the board to help compensate. There are always exceptions in that some individual APs will inevitably fall, but if there is a particular car that you have in mind you would be wise to order now (assuming that you can afford the AP) but check first that the dealer is happy to adjust your AP if it drops in January. That way you are protected if the AP rises. There have been many instances on this forum over the years where people have held off ordering, assuming that the AP will drop in the next quarter and either the AP has risen or, even worse, the car has been removed from the scheme!
