Found out yesterday that the batteries are not being delivered till the end of January 2025. Went ballistic with the installer who has offered an alternative capacity if 30kwh from a “superior” battery, not been told the make of the “superior” battery. I called Fogstar, the battery supplier, who told me it was in fact their fault the batteries weren’t installed, apparantly they didn’t get the supply they had ordered and unfortunately my order was not filled. I’ve no idea why my installer didn’t tell me this as it would have made for a more friendly discussion. I will wait until I’m told what alternative is being offered before making a decision. My initial thought is to wait and get the 45kwh Fogstar Batteries installed late January but will see what he says.

I posted this a few days ago but there has been information sent to me by Fogstar and I’m not really sure on a way forward with my installer.

After speaking to Fogstar it appeared the fault for the inability to supply my batteries was with them. My installer had sent me a copy of an email from Fogstar saying as they couldn’t supply the batteries and that he had “paid a deposit” he could get his money back. I had sent this email back to Fogstar in my original attempt to find out who was to blame.

As I said initially Fogstar had told me it was their fault however they have came back to me with further info. They have told me that my installer had “doctored” the email they sent to him saying he had paid a deposit and could get his money back. They sent me the email they sent to him and it actually said that as he had NOT paid any deposit and therefore no order had been confirmed because of that.

I am absolutely flabbergasted with this information and I’m not sure what to do next.

My air source heat pump, solar and invertor are installed and working fine but as you can imagine my faith in the installer has gone and I’m wondering how I move forward with this.

I’ve called the installer and he hasn’t replied, I contacted his office and the girl said she would get him to call me, he hasn’t. He has text me twice to say he would call but hasn’t so I’m struggling to know what to do next.

I will need to speak to “ Home Energy Scotland as its financed through them via grant and interest free loan.

Obviously my warranty for the heat pump and solar are through my installer so this will be problematic also.

To make matters worse the delivery date for my batteries, assuming a deposit is made, is now the end of February and Fogstar don’t want to deal with him but have offered to allow me to purchase them for late February delivery.

I will attempt to call the installer again today in an attempt to find out what’s going on with him and see if he has anything to offer in an attempt to get this sorted.

I assume together with the Energy Trust Scotland and the MCS body there will be recourse available to me but it’s all a bit of a nightmare 😩
