I wouldn’t want an EV if I didn’t have the ability to charge it at home, it’s one of the joys and savings of EV ownership. 20% VAT, and another person adding cost and profit makes charging away from home less financially attractive. Another benefit of EVs though does happen at this time of year when you can lie in bed and warm up/de-ice your car from your phone while it’s still plugged in and not reducing winter range so much. As for range yes discount it for the winter when you choose it. As for driving them, shere joy, unless you are addicted to petrol fumes, the sound of a V8, and don’t care about what environment your grandchildren will inherit. The fact is most EV drivers don’t return to ICE, though of course some will, especially if they haven’t thought it through beforehand, and part of that is the responsibility of Motability reps at dealerships doing their job and not being under pressure to sell electric, and that’s for Motability to enforce when returns happen.
