    @Oscarmax, if you installed another 5kwh battery and fully charged them overnight you would be running the electrical side of the house for 7 or 8.5 p per kwh. Installation of a battery only is not too expensive so this might make sense financially over five or so years.

    You have had your system longer than me so maybe you’ve looked at this and decided against it.

    When my install is complete I will be on Octopus Go until I get a BEV sorted out via the scheme. I will have solar, battery storage and an air source heat pump.

    I will be selling all of my solar back to the grid @ 15p per kwh (7,000 -8,000kwh), I will be charging my batteries, 45kwh, fully every night, running the house including heat pump @ 8.5 p per kWh all day and selling any unused electricity from the batteries back to the grid daily.

    I remember that Agile gives you pretty cheap gas so I can understand why you chose this route but have you ever thought of installing an air-source heat pump?
