@monty Re Hyundai, my advice would be don’t be put off a brand purely because of one bad dealership experience. Unfortunately bad sales persons or dealerships exist in every brand. I have dealt with our local Hyundai dealership three times (two private and one Motability car) and service has been exemplary every time.

For the Motability sale they advised me to hold off for the facelift model (that I didn’t know was coming), provided 3 different cars for me to test over 48 hours, secured the exact model in the exterior and interior colour combination that we wanted immediately (even though some customers elsewhere, according to a Tucson forum had been told that they weren’t available), updated me regularly until delivery, liased with the adaptations company on my behalf and when we picked up the car not only had they fully charged it (PHEV) but they had brimmed the tank with petrol.

I know from the private purchases that after sales service is equally good. They paid for all four alloys to be refurbished on my daughters car even when it was out of warranty and the guy who dealt with our Motability car said that he lives in our village and when it needs servicing he will pick it up and return it so that we don’t even need to leave the house!

By contrast, I’ve had poor service from 3 different Volkswagen dealerships but I don’t doubt that there are good ones out there.
