I have also read that some manufacturers are deliberately delaying the supply of ICE cars until next year in order to help them achieve their targets. That’s not a sustainable position. I predict that this issue will explode in the next year or so, if not sooner. It matters not a jot what the targets are if consumers don’t want BEVs in sufficient numbers to meet them. They will just hold on to their ICE cars for longer. Something will have to give, and I think it will be the targets.
