Audi Q45 Quattro e-tron. Ordered end of July, delivery before the end of the decade.

currently driving Mitsubishi PHEV extended to 5 years. Decided to go EV as really like the EV aspect of current car (& we’ve all got to make the transition sooner or later).

My criteria are; ease of manual transfer into car from wheelchair, will the chair fit in the boot without breaking the chair down, and ease of transferring the chair broken down into the passenger seat unaided. Considered the Nissan Ariya (boot too small, otherwise given its range a good option), Toyota bz4x (boot too small, interior a nightmare for transferring a wheelchair through to passenger seat & range a little low), Ioniq 5 (didn’t look at physically, but in the end decided against RWD), VW ID4 (didn’t get past all the negative reviews, though I do like the look of the car), Volvo  EX30 (reviews very positive, but in the end small boot, RWD & poorer range were a no-no), Skoda Enyaq (very nearly went for the Sportline 85x, great range, very large boot, but in the end I knew the enormous infotainment screen, which looks like a large vertical iPad rising from the dashboard wouldn’t last a week when I have to manhandle a wheelchair one handed through the cab four times a day, 5 times a week).

So in the end the Q4 because the boot is large, the range is ok and there are no large protruding screens to break (my interior isn’t a pretty sight haver 4 years + of stowing a tilite chair in the passenger seat). I’m hoping I might receive the car by March 25, but wouldn’t put money on it.

    blah, blah, blah
