As above, I’ve managed 3288 miles in the last 7 months, most of it not for my own benefit.

My Autistic adult son has had his own flat for a couple of years now, about 4 miles away,  so I’m either down there  taking him out for a meal or shopping etc. 3 or 4 times a week.

Similarly my daughter lives about 10 miles away, unfortunately it’s a 2 bus journey with a 30min gap between them, so a 15-20min drive in the car turns into almost2 hours by bus.

While I would certainly be financially better off without the car it’s not practical for my circumstances.  The thing that’s helped a lot is switching to a full EV, “petrol” costs are down from £80-£120 a month to £13-£14, that’s a massive help.

As Pops has said, you need to look at your personal circumstances and make the decision that works best for you 🙂

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
