Thanks @kezo. You mention the acoustic glass in Premium and up but would you say that’s worth it as I’m deaf? Some reviews say the road noise is a bit concerning so I imagine the acoustic glass helps with that, yes? Just seeing if it’d be an issue for myself. It’s been a while since I had a car that wasn’t a quick hatchback so checking if the Tucson is sluggish or quick for its size? Paddles help with downshifting? Saw the recent photos of yours and was very impressed; lovely looking car.

Sorry mate, I forgot acoustic glass would be as much use to you as a chocolate fireguard lol.

The Tucson has won best midsize SUV for sevveral years now  and the new one is no exception. However, you have got to remember Hyundai/Kia share the same engines and running gear, so performance is very similar. That said the hybrids are quiter than the ICE and they won an award for one of best powertrains, when the 1.6t GDI came out, with its first of a kind CVVD engine.

The is up 10bhp from 150 to 160bhp, The hybrid is down from 230 to 212bhp and the Phev down from 261 to 251bhp but, I would doubt you would tell the difference / you certainly couldn’t driving the old and new Phev back to back. Both Hyundai & Kia underestimate 0-62 times by a considerable amount across the board. The outgoing PHEV, was listed by Hyundai at 8.6s, there’s plenty of Youtube videoer’s with specialist timing gear, showing it was capable of 7.2s. I tested mine with my sons timing gear and can’t remember without looking in Tucson threads, whether I got 7.4 or 7.2s. (Hyundai have the new Phev listed at 8.1s) The Hybrids were also considerably quicker if you look it up but and similar times, if your paying extra for a Hybrid, economy is the goal over missingsound gone in a flash 😂  (FWIW I come from a long line of racing family and my son & daughter still race, hence their timing gear 🙂 )

They are roomy utilty vehicles to get you from a to b comfortably, not a hot hatch!

I doubt you would consider due to the uncertainty of a driveway but, the outgoing top model Sportage is down to £2700, which is a steal given GG and myself have paid £4,599 for an Ulitimate & N Line S!
