UPDATE: Honda UK have authorised a fix but it’s not the control module as first thought. They have got to replace the whole battery at a cost of £23k ! The dealer also has had to hire a crane at a cost of £1k to lift the battery out.
It’s no wonder that private buyers aren’t flocking to buy EVs with story’s like this 😱 I definitely think that, for those who qualify, Motability is absolutely the way to go for those who want an EV or PHEV. Our new PHEV is costing us around £17k through Motability once sacrificed benefits are factored in. Thats a huge sum of money for a car that we will never own, but at least once we’ve got our head around that we know that there will be no further shocks or costs and if we encounter problems such as this we are supplied with a suitable car. I hope that you get this sorted quickly and can go back to enjoying your new car.
