It’s not poor as such, it’s pretty average! I can’t tell how much difference the Canton system makes as I’ve not heard the standard system. If it’s anything like my previous Ateca then the Canton is a pretty poor “upgrade” 🙁
The operating system software is pretty poor, from what I can tell the USB C sockets are not fully wired to standard spec., at least one of them isn’t and doesn’t charge devices if the plug is inserted a certain way. USB C is suppossed to be non-specific and the connectors are wired to work whichever way they’re inserted.
Having nothing to do today I was reading some posts on the BriSkoda forum about similar subwoofer problems on the Superb etc. which turned out to be the sub connector being reverse wired. I stripped out the boot and cut off the alignment keys on the sub connector and re-fitted it turned 180 degrees, this reverses the speaker polarity.
Unfortunately it didn’t make much of a difference, slightly better I think. Basically it’s a poor quality cheap Chinese pretend subwoofer facing directly into a metal plate and encased in a massive solid polysyrene box, a really bad bit of design. I speak from experience as I used to be an audio engineer for NEAL-Ferrograph back in the day.
Only option would be to get an underseat sub fitted, but it would have to be removeable so I can take it out when the car goes back in 30 months time. I already know I have no intention of keeping it over the three years.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
