Interesting, Servanus771. I have an Enyaq on order as we both really like it. However I’m getting a bit nervous about all the technical problems this VW platform is facing. So many niggles being reported, but I’m yet to hear of any on the Ioniq 5. We are doing a test drive this Sunday on one, so I’ll report my findings.
The Ioniq 5 has few niggles, from nearly a year on the groups I’ve heard of:
Boot door rattle – easy solve but can be annoying
ICCU failure – 12V charging failure there’s a box that fails but we’ve had a recall for software (and occasional hardware) updates. We’re hoping it’s solved now…
USB failure, some USB sockets have failed, possibly through the need to attach for CarPlay or Android Auto, there’s been a few that have needed replacements. A good number have bought various boxes to create a wireless connection permanently plugged in.
Obviously there’s been some cars that have had random but repetitive problems but that’s common with most brands, you always risk getting a ‘Friday Afternoon Special’.
