It’s not “£2000 just so I can have a better sound system in my car”

If it was then I’d never have paid that.  The system itself used to be a £600ish upgrade.

However, like most manufacturers, Skoda have changed over to “packs” where you can only get certain extras when they’re lumped together with others, basically a way to get more money out of you.

Looking at the Advanced pack as well as the “upgraded” sound system you get the heads up display (very useful and better than the standard small instrument display, heated Climacoat windscreen, again very useful but as it turns out not really needed on a BEV with car pre-heating available.  Heated rear seats, handy if you’re carrying passengers in the colder months, Crystal grille, can’t really see the point of it.

Would I pay for that pack again? no, I’d certainly pay for the heads up display was available on its own.  I’d also add my own subwoofer but as it’s a permanent connection I’m fairly sure motability wouldn’t be happy.

At the end of the day the car as it is, with the AP being reduced twice cost £3384, the original price when I ordered it  was £3784.  So even with the upgrade to an 85x it was still £400 cheaper than I originally ordered it at.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
