I’ve been looking in to the facelift 2025 model Tucson, which has just been launched in the U.K. (but not in showrooms yet).
Exterior changes are very minor. The biggest change is that the interior gets the long continuous one piece screen comprising a 12.5” instrument cluster and 12.5” infotainment screen (which I believe that the Kia Sportage already has).
I’ve been looking at the Ultimate (which is essentially the same spec as the N-Line S but with the addition of leather trim and a few other things). Most of what was included in the £1,500 Tech Pack is now fitted to the car as standard, although electronic suspension isn’t mentioned as either standard kit or an option. There are other things added that were not available before, such as Matrix LED headlights. Two items added in the Korean market are not mentioned at all in the U.K. spec – Head-up Display and double glazed front windows.
The biggest mystery to me is that the power and torque of the top spec PHEV have both dropped – ps down from 265 to 253 and nm torque down from 350 to 304 – yet 0-60 is improved by 0.1 seconds. I don’t believe that it’s a new engine. I wonder if it has been detuned to improve MPG? There’s also a 2WD PHEV added, but that’s not on Motability yet. I’m wondering if the £900 drop in AP this month was to clear current stock, but my dealer, like others, have said that they will order the new model at the current (lower) AP.
