The whole point of having a home charger is to be able to charge while you are doing other things, like sleeping and watching tv.   There really shouldn’t be a need to charge from absolutely empty to absolutely full.

Most experienced EV users will charge in bits, so you start off with a fully charged car, drive it until it’s around 30-40% charged and then plug it in and set the timer for the cheapest period on your electrical tariff.  That should get you up to around 80-90%.  Then run it down to 30-40% and up again.  If you’re going away and need 100%, then you charge it up in advance, run it down to a point you know it’ll be at 100% before the cheap period ends and you’re ready to go.  It’s very few people who need 300ish miles daily and therefore need to recharge back to 100% every night.

Remember it’s a completely different way of driving that a more traditional ICE vehicle, you can recharge it as much (or little) as you need without needing to be anywhere near the car instead of filling up to 100% in minutes and running it down to then go out of your way to refill.
