It’s not even a cancel and reorder it’s just an admin on one system. My dealer phoned me that without asking they changed the order to save me £400. I would’ve asked but they did it for me. The order date hasn’t changed on Skoda’s system so it couldn’t have been “cancelled” or the date would’ve changed.
I can see why if a car was ordered 2 quarter previous why they wouldnt want to but if it’s within weeks or a month or 2 why not it doesn’t cost anyone money it’s admin.
This needs rectifying at Motability there needs to be a policy of the AP being a cap so if it goes down we are protected especially given the quite long waits for cars these days too and if it goes up then you pay the price at the time of the order. It’s all well and good saying you should just pay what you ordered but considering AP’s are really high now vs the past and considering how much money Motability are sitting on these days I think it’s quite literally the least they can do. If electricity companies can run a tariff with a cap and swallow the loss if prices shoot up when they have no control over the market then Motability who in some way have control over the finances can look after the customer instead of the banks who own it.
