Hi Russ works in operations – Its entirely up to everyone here to judge the merits of this – We’ll know before long either way.
It was actually my post on that group that got that unexpected Tesla response – I decided not to share as constantly get flamed if mentioning this anywhere.
However now someone else has mentioned it here are my thoughts:
I think it’s likely to happen as is only going to initially be available at 4 dealerships (with an additional 2 pick up points)
I suspect Tesla are dipping their toes to see how Motability work out for them, but being only at a handful of dealerships means its easier to pull the plug, if it doesn’t work for them
The AP is high at £3999 for a three (standard) or £7999 for a LR most people arent going to go for this when the likes of BYD are £0AP
Same source also stated Polestar are joining, and are slightly higher APs
It’s true, this guy could be pulling our leg, or at the last minute one side gets cold feet and pulls out.
We’ll know at the Motability event at the NEC is may as both manufactures are supposedly there with adapted cars to test drive.
Nothing official has been announced for either manufacturer , but this needs to happen soon as May isn’t far away.
Still very much rumour, its not fact till officially announced, but that if this rumour is genuine or not will be known by end May at the latest. Tesla and Polestar will be or wont be at Motability’s NEC big event
Other than my opinion, I have no additional knowledge more than anyone else who can read that thread. This is still rumour – I’m not saying its true. I’m only posting this at all as some (like me) may be able to pause their renewal decisions (via contract extension) to see how this pans out. If it comes to nothing then there are plenty of other cars on the scheme, most way cheaper!!
