I had this in my Alhambra a while back, I tried all the things you have with no success.
I’m not 100% but I think the way I got it to work was to make a playlist in iTunes (all my itunes files are MP3 format) and drag & drop onto the USB drive (can’t remember the exact format, either Fat32 or ExFat), no more Meatloaf every time I started the car. ?
I did have it set to shuffle or random whatever they call it now.
