I agree with @kezo in writing the letter to Skoda, the sub is not of satisfactory quality, in the letter factor in the sales ‘push’ and mention about the colour you wanted and the cost and tell them you felt pressured, being a Motability customer you are more vulnerable to the ‘sales pitch’ of extras etc,. Dependant of your needs.

It was also probably me Kezo is thinking of, I used the ‘sales contract/agreement’ which I signed against VW as they said I couldn’t have the optional extras cost back even though the car I had; had manufacturing fault and was a ‘known’ fault.

I likened the experience of constant pinging every 30 seconds for the 2 hours a day I drove the car to ‘sound torture’, told them I would be taking them to small claims as they hadn’t actually formed a contract for the optional extras and no where in the sales form did it state that I couldn’t get refunded for it, even within all the T&C’s, and I would be seeking damages aswell, this went from the dealership all the way to VW Germany compliance team and within the same week I got an offer of the extras refunded so long as I signed a ‘non fault agreement’ meaning I couldn’t pursue them in the future for that matter.

This is slightly different as I handed the car back due to a manufacturing fault.

It could be said that the sound system is faulty, have a google see if anyone else is having the same issues on other forums as I used other forum Q&A’s as evidence which I screenshotted and printed, showing the issue was known from a certain date and not limited to the same model vehicle.

Use the Consumer Rights Act 2015 there is a tool you can use yo make a letter template on Which Consumer under ‘use our faulty goods tool’. Although I didn’t feel it was enough my letter setting out my complaint and evidence was 4 pages long!

My extras were just over £1000, sun roof and spare wheel.

£2,035 IMO is a lot of money but having a look at the pack it is a reasonable amount for what you get; head up display, heated front and rear seats, heated windscreen, sound system and crystal face. It works out to £407 per extra within that pack. At the very least you could argue for £407 of that back as a last resort.

It also matters if whether that pack is what you wanted or were you ‘sold on it’, as we know they can get commission for selling the extra packs.

Something worth considering when you send your complaint in.

    I wouldn’t settle if you’re not happy.
