I was apprehensive when I did my first charge (before home charger was fitted). It turned out to be very easy (and a bit expensive!).
I chose the Fastned 300kW chargers in Washington which is a few miles away, cheaper than any of the other super fast chargers in the area at 69p/kWh.
Parked up, read the instructions, connected up, swiped my Octopus Electroverse card and off it went, charging at just over 99kWh.
Popped over to Greggs and had a sandwich and a hot choccy, went back to check and it had added 46kWh (£37) in about 20mins. Stopped the charge, disconnected and off back home.
I’ll do over 99% of my charging at home overnight (at 7.5p kWh) but at least I know how to charge elsewhere if I ever need to. Currently (no pun intended!) getting about 285 miles from a full charge.
Compared to the Ateca it’s around 1/9th of the cost and as the range increaes in the warmer weather I would expect that to improve to at least 1/10th.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
