Yep, having looked at the Kona there’s a huge amount of car for the AP and with electric versions available I’d be going for one of those.
Electric cars are ideal for around town and short distance driving. Most complaints you hear about particle filters clogging up are because the car hasn’t gone far and hasn’t done the sort of driving that clears them out. Add that to the extra wear and tear the engine suffers over short trips, I’d be going electric. For what you’re doing it’ll make absolutely no sense to go any other direction, for me.
