Im no electrician but
Thinking being it may help to reduce the chances of condensation affecting the internal circuit board ( something Easee had no concerns with as they do not have the same circuit board set up)
Sealing around wires or cables is a special headache all its own—gland nuts are specifically made to make a waterproof (or resistant, at least) pass-through for a cable, but they don’t necessarily prevent air slipping past, and air tends to carry water vapor with it.
Main objective was one of belt and braces
