I was in exactly your position a few months back. After placing my order, I checked the dealer 3 months later and they said, my vehicle is not assigned a build week yet.
So I went to my Hyundai dealer and asked if the had an Ioniq 5 Ultimate in stock. No they didnt, but he checked availability and one was in another dealership. So I phoned the original garage, cancelled the order. Placed the new order at the saleswomans desk.
Easy peasy.
I asked how long it took for a factory order for an ioniq 5 and she said its currently one year.
All you got to do is phone another Hyundai dealer, they will tell you over the phone if there are cars available now.
