There are only 2000 odd signatures to the petition that’s right and so I am merely doing a few small clicks on a website to help advertise the petition so more people can decide if they want to participate I do feel for any person who paid into a pension for it to go bad such as the British Homec Stores debacle it’s nice to hear you are well set up in the pension department and wish you well enjoying it I am starting to agree with you that it is unfair if a disabled person who pays taxes into the system and dies before they can take their state pension because their disability has reduced their life expectancy they should be treated like everyone else quite right My problem is by the time I retire I will be as useful as sack of potatoes so I have 16 years to slowly degenerate and waste away not quite the retirement I had planned but hey ho I can at least try and look for small miracles it’s what you do what else is there ? but alas I believe you are right I view it as the same as buying a lottery ticket you have naff all chance of winning but increase your chances of winning by 100 % if you buy one than if you don’t I guess it depends on wether you would like to wish someone good luck with their ticket or explain to them they are wasting their time and money as the odds of winning are terrible Im glad I’m not that person
Daniel, FWIW I did sign it, for reasons previously said. However I also said, to have a 2 tier system would basically be impossible for reasons I outlined as well as @Glos Guy and others. Whether that is right or wrong is besides the point, as simply the government won’t except it, sepecialy the nasty party. Even if the government did agree to it, it will be like opening a can of worms for other groups, who feel they are entitled.
For those that haven’t been able to pay for a private pension or those who have very little pots due to being on a low income or even those that landed in the shit, as was the case with BHS, Will depending on savings beable to claim pension credit . Those who are disabled, will continue to get their disabled benifits ontop of those mentioned by GG.
I don’t know if its your petition or someone elses but, it seems to have been opened on the governments website, where traffic is alot lower than the likes of Change.org, who ping millions of registered users enails when a new petition goes live.
Those who don’t shouldn’t’ expect the state (which means other tax payers) to do it for them.
I’m probably looking at this wrong mate but, isn’t that how the state pension works – our generation paid for are parents state pension through taxes and are childrens generation pay fpr are’s and so on. The same goes for the disabled, longterm sick and minimum wage top ups are paid for by the tax payer, as are the lazy twats!
Wishing you both a Merry and safe Christmas.
