I’d go a step further. If Motability want to encourage the take up of EVs they should be looking at how to provide more specialist charging solutions for those who don’t have the simple off street parking. Those who have a dedicated space but a path or pavement between their home and car. To those who have a pavement before public parking on the road. There are solutions available, they aren’t standard ones but if Motability could get a fund together where people who have difficulty paying for such installs could be given the necessary funds and a project manager to help ensure the coordination of all the different bodies involved and information they all require. Obviously this all costs money but it’s not like Motability are short of a penny or two.
Agree but, I don’t know how they would do that, other than adding it as as a £999 option as part of non standard install for example.
The ther issue is, it will have to go through the LA and not all LA’s will approve such a system. The other point is , some LA are offering hefty discounts, whils’t other aren’t, mean you could end up pay more through Motabiliyt than going direct.
