The iX2 is starting at approx. 57,000 and the combustion engine X2 starts from 40,000 so it would make more sense and in budget for them to put up the X2 model instead since they’re barely willing to add an M-Sport trim to the i4 for 51K… We will have to see.
That’s because the iX2 is new and, as yet, has just been released in the more powerful (and expensive) 30e variant. It was the same when the iX1 launched. Once the 20e variant was added it appeared on the Motability scheme. I suspect that the same will happen with the iX2. The 20e variant will be added early in 2024 and will probably start at around £51k for the X-Line, which is the same price as the iX1 M-Sport which is now on the scheme.
I prefer the look of the X2/iX2 over the X1/iX1 but fear that it may be too small for us. I’d also much prefer a petrol X2 over the iX2, but doubt that the former will appear due to Motability’s obsession with EVs.
