This is just one of the many reasons why private buyers aren’t embracing EVs at anything like the rate that fleet customers (most of whom benefit from the lower benefit in kind taxation) are. Good news for Motability customers though. We don’t have the same worries about EV depreciation and resale issues (other than the high APs which, to a degree, reflect this), so Motability remains an obvious route to help manufacturers achieve their targets.
