@Debs I’m amazed that they’ve deleted power fold mirrors. That’s really poor. I had the more powerful iX1 30e for a day and have to say that I didn’t like it anywhere near as much as our current (2021) 2.0i petrol X1. I’ve had loads of BMWs and love them, but in some respects I think they are going backwards in quite a few areas. I didn’t find the latest iDrive to be as user friendly as the version we have. The removal of the rotary controller and favourites buttons (both of which I use all the time) is just plain stupid IMHO. They were both features that made BMWs iDrive class leading. In all honesty, the only improvement that I found over the previous version is the fact that they have now added AutoHold, which was a glaring omission on the previous version and remains the only thing that irritates me about our current car.
I agree with you, just trying to force us to purchase the packs at extra cost.
I didn’t realise the iDrive controller had been removed until I went for the test drive. A backward step definitely, everything is touch screen or voice activated on the iX1.
I must admit, the auto hold was brilliant. Not sure about the range though, I think BMW quote 270 miles approx. but it looked as if I was only returning about 210-220, but it was quite cold and I know this has an impact on range
