I might be a little dense (or the hour is getting the better of me) but what is the problem with the floorpan? Is it the height from the floor or the lack of drop once inside of the car or the height between floor and seats?
Gear selector on the stalk is on a few other BEVs as well, apparently so that the centre console and dash look a little clearer. Seeing as it’s based on the MEB platform found in the ID4 & 5 it follows that it’ll keep with their use of the stalk type selector.
