Nobody has been prosecuted yet, so no point in telling anyone yet You return the form and say who was driving Then you will receive a letter giving choices, fixed penalty and points, speed awareness or go to court. At 37mph in a 30 and as long as you have not done a speed awareness course already, I would expect you to be offered one then.
Exactly this, I was done for 37 in a 30 about 6 years ago, in a company car and did the speed awareness course.
It looks like what has happened here is the police know the car was doing 37 in a 30 but don’t know who was driving so sent the NIP to motability as the car belongs to them. They would have given the police your details so the police have contacted you, you need to return the form with the details of who was driving the car at the time.
The police will then send you a letter giving you three options, £100 fine and 3 points, a speed awareness course, cost me £90 six years ago, and no points or deny speeding and have your day in court.
Don’t tell anyone yet as there has been no admittance of guilt, 6 years ago you did not need to notify your insurer if you did the course because you had no points, though this could have changed so it’s best to check.
