No it doesnt work like that. The new Kona is an updated model and Hyundai know they will sell, no matter whether its an EV or Hybrid.
The AP is agreed beforehand between Motability and the Manufacturer. If they cant meet in the middle – it doesnt get on the scheme.
It could be that Motability has forced Hyundai to set the AP for Hybrids high, to push everyone on to EV’s. After all, Motability have to sell the car after 3 years.
Point is, there are a lot of factors in play here, we just do not know.
