Thank you, <p style=”text-align: left;”>I think we will just have to play it by ear on the day & will like you say, if asked just explain we have no idea & see what comes from it. We are dropping off & picking up the new car from our local dealer. Tried looking on ebay for a replacement & like you say they are around £60 but the collection would be a 250 mile drive there and back! Certainly won’t be able to arrange that before the weekend. Thank you for your replies, I’m glad we’re not the first! Been a bit of a nightmare as my daughter has just got her provisional after all the medical forms, took months, & is waiting have the assessment for adaptations (hand controls etc). The long lead time would have meant she’d be able to have the adaptations done before the dealership took delivery & the cost would have been covered by the scheme, but now because of the surprise very early delivery will have to cover the cost herself. As much as it will be lovely to have a nice new car, it hasn’t quite gone to plan!</p>
Ask Motability about a grant for the hand controls, I’m sure they’d help.
