Cutting out the hyperbole in the article It is actually a sensible and pragmatic approach not to go for Euro 7 compliance.
Bearing in mind how much it will cost manufacturers (and thus buyers) for what will ultimately be a short period of time before the ICE purchase barrier comes down, opting to remain on Euro 6 (which already exceeds emission requirements in the rest of the world) is a no brainer.
