I have the Tucson Phev as well. Its ok, underwhelming is more to the point. For such a big body there is surprisingly little room in the car. It certainly isn’t a 5 seater. With the dog in the boot the shopping has to ride on the back seat – setting the alarms off. If you are 4 up a nightmare
It drives ok and performs ok. No way as good as the previous Leon’s I had. The 190 bhp DSG estate was absolutely brilliant, no matter what you did it was a constant 50 mpg, roomy and comfortable.
One of the benefits, I had hoped for was the saving from regenerative breaking and idling toping up the extra battery as I drive but no it is always around 12% charge. Even on full charge, the range is around 35 miles but runs down very, very quickly.
The problem is there still isn’t much choice for bigger SUV’s
