HELP I’m in the process of having a home charger fitted by ohme but I have just had an emailed invoice for nearly £500 for extra cable and labour,I would have thought our house (bungalow)would have been a fairly standard installation as from the electric box to the charger is 17 metres or maybe less if the go through the loft, I’m wondering if mobility are aware of this but I will ring them tomorrow. Has anyone else experienced this ?
Hi Steve, a standard install (free) includes 5 meters of EVSE cable and a couple of holes drilled. Given you need an extra 12m of this cable its classed as a non standard install and you have to pay the difference.
However, £500 sounds expensive for 12m of cable (£128 retail) and labour. If this there is nothing else bar cable on the invoice its a rip off!!
