Knowing tge way wiring harness manufacturers work, any break into the harnesses voids the warranty on the whole harness. Even their official harness repairs void the warranty and if any other electrical issues arise, becomes then the car manufacturers liability. add to that, the most modern harnesses, that are the first items fitted in body build, are specific harnesses to reduce weight. In the past one harness his all, with non used wires cap0ed, but that was extra weight when ever gramme now counts.

You should know better than anyone, the wiring harness is the same in the base trim as it is in the top trim, with blanked of plugs that need coding should you add a aftermarket kit. There are dedicated sync 3 kits available complete with harnesses to fit the otherwise redundant corresponding plug on the vehicle harbess.

When I had my 17 plate Skoda Superb SEL, I paid extra for the speed sign recognition, which allowed me to get other things coded and also £300+ for the reverse camera. When I renewed the car the reverse camera went straight into a neigbours SE trim, where all the plugs were awaiting for it to connect to! In return I got half my money back and a swop of the blank (without camera) taigate opener 🙂
