    Noah,

We’ve had our CX60 2.5 PHEV for just over a month and the just is still out for me I’m afraid!

It really is a beautiful car, lush inside and feels quality.

However, it does have some serious flaws and those flaws aren’t easily dismissed. The size of fuel tank is ridiculously small. Worse still I don’t really know the actual capacity! Some sources say 50l, some 40l – All I know is I’m struggling to get any more than 300 miles out of a tank of petrol. Fill ups used to be every 2 or 3 weeks in our Tiguan Allspace. The CX60 seems like every 4 or 5 days ot needs filling.

Admittedly, we’ve not got an EV charger fitted yet (that’s another story!) so have yet to experience the full PHEV benefits yet. As I said, economy is a lot worse than I’d assumed – typically 35 MPG.

The other REALLY ANNOYING thing about the car is the obtrusive driver assistance. And to think that was an optional extra – my God it is seriously dangerous. And returns to haunt you every time you start the ignition again! The wheel is literally wrenched from your hands when it thinks you’re out of lane – it’s like throttling an anaconda!!! Hence the car is distinctly twitchy on road. My senses are significantly heightened when driving which detracts from the driving experience and is extremely tiring over prolonged periods.

The driver attention says I’m distracted when I look over my shoulder on the motorway. I know I’ve got blind spot monitoring but 40 years of doing it has kept me safe until now.

The car is in to have a tow bar fitted but I’m seriously doubting it’s ability with the caravan on the back. It’s stressful enough having 9 m of van behind when you feel planted but if it’s as twitchy as it is now I might end up with a motorhome instead!!!

All things considered, not the best of starts. No more than a 6 out of 10 but I’ve not given up on it just yet.

By comparison, the Wife’s Ioniq 5 is a solid 9 to drive. Some similar lane assist issues but feels planted and it’s driveability is much better than the CX60.
