So Kezo, theoretically I could get the bloke I contacted to quote for the installation?
yes.
Theoretically Bob the local electrician has signed up to be an installation partner with ProEV. Ohme have contracted ProEV to who Bob has signed upto for when his work is slack. ProEV contact Bob to do your install on behalf of Motability & Ohme. ProEV pay Bob a lower rate, than if Backcountrybob had phoned Bob the local electrician directly.
Bob the local electrician visits your house, that may need a non standard install or more than 2 or 3 holes drilling or a bit more cable. This his where Bob is able to make his money up compared to what Bob would have charged, if you had called him directly with some £’s ontop
If Backcountrybob had called Bob the local electrician directly he would charge an average of £1050 (£700 if you are a tennant) to install the Ohme Pro with as many holes drilling as neccessary to install the charger, because Bob adds £20ish punds for a drill bit and wear and tear to his equipment on evey job. Bob would also include more cable than he intially anticipated because Bob priced for the job.
Bob the local electrician installs the charger on behalf of ProEV, contracted by Ohme/Motability , Bob won’t really want Backcountrybob to phone him directly as its not his job, in the way the contract is not with him. If Backcountrybob had contacted Bob the local electrian directly to carry out the work, therefore the contract is between Backcountrybob and Bob the local electrician, therefore Bob want mind a phone call from Backcountrybob!!
