Hi Sophie,
Welcome to the forum…
I’ve ordered an AUDI Q4 45 etron, just 10 days ago, no longer on the scheme, unfortunately, in the last couple of days… But I did compare it with your BMW I4…. My thoughts…..
I was never ever drooling, when watching the youtube videos of the i4, it seemed a bit dated to me, and bloated too, like a large Ford Sierra on steroids….
And I hoped that in the flesh, it would grab me.
I went along, and was immediately disappointed seeing it in the flesh…. Just really confirmed my worst fears, the shape, that is, and then, when I tried to get in the car, me having really bad Psoriatic Arthritis, I was struggling ever more to get into the seat, so low down, felt much lower down than my current car, a hatchback, the Mercedes AMG 180 Premium Plus.
That’s not what I expected, wanted, or needed….
Then for the sound system…..
I love music, and in particular EDM, everything from Buddha Bar, to Tiesto (in the ‘In Search of The Sunrise Days}, through to all things John Digweed, and DJ Solomun, then every thing else too…
Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Depeche Mode, Hipsway, The Lighthouse Family, you name it, I probably love it, and use it during sets…it matters to me the quality too…. Very important….. Music my life,…..
So, I know a good sound system, compared to a bang average one….
And the difference, between the Harmon Kardon in the BMW i4 was a Grand Canyon away from the car I have on order now…. The AUDI Sonos sound system left my mouth agape, in sheer disbelief, I couldn’t comprehend how good it was, I love brands like Naim, Auralic, Dali, Monitor, PMC, I own a variety of music gear with all the aforementioned brands, and quality matters to me…..
I’m 52, you only live once, why not?
And then, when I heard the Harmon Kardon, sheer disappointment…. Flabbergasted, the other way, couldn’t believer how poor it was….
That poor, I asked the sales man over, and to sit in the car, and he thought it was the mut’s nut’s.
I then asked him to look at the music settings, was anything switched on or off, that shouldn’t be….
Nope, the best settings were actually in place. Hand on heart, I felt sorry for every BMW owner out there, spending their £ 2000.00+ on getting that Harmon Kardon sound, then probably driving around thinking it’s brilliant, and one wee stop, into any AUDI dealership, and try the Sonus, and just marvel that all those sounds in the air, perfectly placed, outstanding Ibiza type bass, controlled, and the most beautiful highs and mids….
I’ve spend ££££££££’s on expensive audio equipment in the last 10 years, and it as good as anything I’ve ever heard….
Harmon Kardon reputation may well be as someone who bring out premium sound systems, at a cost…. Don’t waste your money….. Its all hype, and no substance, and if your not busy today, and looking to fill a couple of hours, go try yourself….
BMW Showroom first,
Then straight to AUDI dealership, (realise it’s not on the scheme now), may well come back on soon (hopefully), then just sit, close your eyes, and listen….. Play dance, play jazz, play classical, play Rock, and just use this system, after listening, as your new default go to system, that allt he others now have to catch up with…..And thank the lord for Sonus, who I don’t even have anywhere in my house…. The car will suffice though……
Hope this helps, my vision of all things BMW i4 isn’t necessarily your thoughts, although before the advance payment anyway, don’t be thinking the Harmon Kardon is all that….
And before anyone else comes on, and has a go at me, maybe try what I’ve suggested for Sophie, and pop along and hear yourself…. Worth it just to hear that Sonus. OMG!!!!!
Never ever trying to offend, just a gently nudge to all things Sonus…..
