Dealers (and/or manufacturers) do tend to play down updates unless they’re 100% ready – I remember 2 cars ago getting one of the old Volvo XC60’s and I specifically asked the dealer if there was a new model coming soon as the tech was very dated – he went away and came back and told me he’d been told at least 9-12 months – new car was out less than 3 months later.
The lie (don’t know if he lied or was lied to) was probably about protecting NOW sales from those many people who’d think – may as well wait a little while and get something better.
