We are on our 3rd EV now to be honest we don’t even notice, we have never felt restricted by range or battery size winter or summer, we have travelled well over 30k EV miles  and expect to do much more in the latest arrival , I have never compromised heat or cool with a/c the only thing is I am someone who likes to get most mileage for money (Mean or Tight I think it’s called ?) I was with a diesel and so I am with an EV. When we came to get the latest car the most important thing was efficiency and comfort so we are now charging at  a rate that gives us a price of 1.7 pence per mile. That’s why we drive electric, ironically the petrol station in our village has closed along with other facilities so I would need to burn fuel to get fuel as the nearest one is about 9 miles away. The infrastructure for EV  is not to be feared trips just require a little more sensible planning, a bit like using a map instead of sat nav (remember those days) this is because we have been used to a petrol station on every roundabout, my main argument is that no one should be forced into EV I really don’t feel it was necessary the transition will happen over time, each will have their own reason for making the move, I have said before in the time we have had EV not one neighbour relative or friend has made the move, which I find quite interesting but we do see many many more EV on the road now.
