Looks like the BMW x1 2024 might be joining the scheme next year. how far into the i4 order can we decide to cancel if the bmw x1/ix1 is added in Jan quarter 1 of 2024. My order isn’t due to be delivered until April
You can technically cancel right up until the day before you take delivery but, personally, I don’t think it’s right to cancel once the car has been built (unless the spec has changed from what you ordered).
You haven’t said how you’ve heard about the X1 joining the scheme, but a word of caution. Manufacturers regularly have conversations with Motability about cars joining the scheme, but only a proportion of them ever come to fruition.
We have had several instances over the years where cars have been pulled before they’ve even joined the scheme, even though APs had been agreed. That being said, there is no reason why the X1 shouldn’t appear.
I’d possibly be interested in the petrol X1 if it appeared (depending on spec and engine), but seeing as how Motability seem to be prioritising EV’s, I can see the iX1 appearing, but not the current variant. There is a new lower powered one coming out which is going to be about £7k cheaper, so I suspect that’s a prime candidate for Motability.
