With a General Election due within the next 18 months (and, most likely next Autumn) I think that the government will be far more concerned about what the electorate think about this, rather than the car manufacturers.
From what I understand, most auto manufacturers are behind it apart from a couple, with Ford being one who spoke out bedore he made his speech.
I don’t think Labour know where they are with the electorate anymore. Perhaps they have lost their way after being out of powe for decade or more or there bowing to the tune of their masters!
Equally Labour’s current idealology going again’t the majority, will only serve them a home goal in 18 months!
