Thanks for all the feedback everyone. There does seem to be a wide variation in what is offered across the different dealers (seemingly not manufacturer specific). It is encouraging though that no-one has so far mentioned any discrimination or general lack of enthusiasm towards it being a Motability customer.
I would like to try the Q4 e-tron but was told by my local Audi dealer they don’t do unaccompanied test drives. To be fair, I haven’t pressed the issue as yet and to be honest, never having driven an electric car before in my 50+ years on the road, I wouldn’t mind the dealer accompanying me to start with. I would want a further test drive unaccompanied though and have the problem of how my wife (the Motability customer) can try it out as she is in a wheelchair and cannot self support to transfer into the car (we use a person hoist in our current Motability car). One of the most important things for her would be the ride comfort so I would want any test drive, accompanied or not, to include some rough roads to test out the car’s suspension and how it copes with potholes, speed bumps, etc.. We are looking at a wheelchair swivel seat as an alternative to a WAV for our next car by the way.
