In my case Motability works for me, at 6′ 5″ with increasing mobility problems getting a car I can fit into let alone drive comfortably rules out almost everything except a large SUV type. Even they’ve been difficult to find this year!.
This time I’ve gone full electric (hopefully!) and not withstanding the various problems I’m having with getting a charger fitted the car I’ve chosen (Enyaq 80x Sportline) is well beyond what I could afford to privately lease or buy.
Everyones situation is different, before I got divorced my credit score was terrible! so being on benefits there was no chance of getting finance or a lease, Motability was a great solution for me.
